How to get better

Epsom salt

How to cleanse your body

As a lot of you might know, a healthy mind starts with a healthy gut. A lot of bad bacteria that affect our wellbeing comes from the gut and therefor through what we eat and drink. A cleansing of the colon and a smart diet can dramatically change how we feel physically and mentally.

After becoming pregnant and giving birth and maybe most of all, after carrying my little bundle of joy around all day, my elasticity has really changed. I used to practise yoga almost every day and the days when I did not I used to do some stretches at home in the evening. Since time now is precious and I have to spend the few moments that I’m aloud on myself and my work, my body tend to come on third or fourth place. Something I really need to change if I want to be able to my best self.

I have recently done some research on Epsom salt and have noticed that it helps me to feel better. My muscles are less sore and my somewhat upset stomach feels much better.

So, what is Epsom salt?

Epsom salt may be used to aid in healing infected tissue by soaking the affected area in a basin filled with hot water and Epsom salt. Epsom salt helps to draw out an infection by forcing out toxins at the surface level of the skin, according to Dr. Jeffrey Bowman. It is often used to soothe the body. Some of the benefits include relaxing the nervous system, curing skin problems, promotes better sleep,  soothing back pain or aching limbs, easing muscle strain, healing cuts, treating cold and congestion, and drawing toxins from the body.

I will keep on adding Epsom salt to my evening baths that I take every three days. On top of that I try to give myself some alone time with a facial mask and a good book to try to clear my mind from the days stresses. This is an affordable item to invest in for one’s wellbeing.

I mix my Epsom salt up with some lavender oil for relaxation and let it ‘’simmer’’ with the warm bath water until I get in and try to stay in for at least twenty minutes. I sometimes ad a few drops of Frankincense essential oil to calm my mind. It is up to you what and if you want to add some fragrance to your bath but If you do I recommend; Mandarin, Frankincense or Lavender oil for its calming effects.

You can purchase it on amazon or at pharmacy’s and in health stores

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do
